Dr. Sierra Macy, DACM, L.Ac., is the founder of Tangerine Roots Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine. She holds a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science.

Sierra is deeply passionate about helping patients reconnect with their health through a holistic, personalized, and root-cause approach to healing. Her clinical practice is strongly influenced by Japanese Meridian Therapy and Kampo Herbal Medicine, both of which emphasize gentle, precise treatment tailored to the unique constitution of each individual.

Committed to lifelong learning, Sierra has pursued advanced training in Japanese-style acupuncture through ongoing Hari seminars and Kampo herbal medicine studies, including a two-year Kampo herbal medicine internship. She has traveled to Japan on multiple occasions to deepen her understanding of traditional Japanese medicine, studying in cities including Osaka, Kobe and Kagoshima while observing master practitioners and learning directly from experts in the field. These experiences continue to shape her clinical approach and deepen her appreciation for the artistry and effectiveness of Japanese acupuncture.

Drawing from these traditions, Sierra combines acupuncture, Kampo herbal medicine, moxibustion, bodywork, gua sha, fire cupping, and holistic facial rejuvenation therapies to support the body’s innate healing abilities. Each treatment is thoughtfully tailored to the patient’s individual needs and health goals.

Whether supporting fertility, women’s health, pain management, digestive concerns, stress reduction, or overall wellness, Sierra’s goal is to create a space where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
